Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or just plain tired rn? It’s all good. You are a momboss.

Who else on this earth can go to work, grocery shop, clean a household of laundry & wrangle kids into clothes and carseats on a daily basis. If you are able to even remotely get something edible on the dinner table, throw some make-up on & drive without spilling coffee on thyself, you are already halfway there..

But I get it, we all want more. We always strive to be better than the day before. It’s a constant struggle between ‘F’ this & okay, tonight I’m going to be SO productive! Working turns into Pinteresting birthday party themes & dreaming about your next mani/pedi.

To be able to finally be the momboss you know you are, you’ve got to put yourself first. (Okay, 2nd – we all know the babies come 1st)

Here’s the deal:

  • You CAN make it to that pilates class.
  • You CAN get more time with the kids after work.
  • You CAN have dinner waiting for you when you get home. ahem, crockpot

But most importantly, you CAN get that “me time” back all while getting sh*t done.

1. Don’t be afraid to ask for help

We always want to be tough girls, but it’s okay. We have people out there who love us, and our kids. And who genuinely want to help. Let them!

2. Don’t overthink it

Stop thinking about it so much, just do it. Most of the time, juggling all of life’s tasks like a circus clown is exhausting, agreed. However, some of the time we are making ourselves more exhausted by constantly complaining about it and thinking too much about the “what-ifs” & “only-ifs”.

3. Laundry can wait

Lets admit it, the clean clothes usually stay piled up and unfolded until it’s all worn again, anyways. can I get an amen? So stop and breathe, remember you are a momboss. Is it really going to matter in a couple of years if all of that was done right away or if you opted to have a family pillow fight, instead.

4. Stay organized

Chalkboards, calendars, meal prep Tupperware, closet bins and labels!
One trip to Target (careful, ladies!) can literally save your life. Oh, and let’s not forget about our BFF, Pinterest. She is EH**VRY**THING! From Crockpot recipes to closet hacks, it’s legit saved my life.

5. Stick to a schedule

I cannot stress how much this changes things. I used to be terrible at this. I somehow always rebelled against anything too strict or stuffy-like, with the fear of feeling trapped. But I was wrong. Very wrong.
It wasn’t until I had children that I learned the importance of having a strict schedule. I understand everyone parents differently, but we ain’t talking about sleep training here. Dinner time, bath time, bed time, etc. In my household, the days go so much smoother when we all know what’s coming next. Idc what time Paw Patrol comes on, DVR that bad boy, watch a re-run then it’s bed time. Life is just so much easier when you get that extra few hours at night (aka the calm after the storm) to clear your mind.

6. Take a family walk

This works, I promise. Something about fresh air and a peaceful walk doubling as light exercise makes all the difference. Plus, anything to calm the kids down after dinner is a win/win!

Remember ladies, put yourself first.
A happy mom = happy everyone.
